The Call

Jerry and Jana Lackey, formerly of Houston, TX were called to Maun, Botswana in 1987. The late Pastor John Osteen, of Lakewood Church, ordained them, blessed them, and sent them off to Africa. They have a heart to see the people of Southern Africa become strong, victorious people for God.

The First Days

Jerry and Jana had humble beginnings. They made regular trips into the arid desert of northern Botswana, sleeping in the bush and learning from the Batswana people. In 1990 they relocated the ministry to their current home, the village of Maun. During this time, the Lackey family expanded. They were blessed with three sons, Remick, Jordan, Mason, and a daughter, Mmapula. In Maun, God opened door for Jerry and Jana to launch Love Botswana Outreach Mission.

Since the inception of Love Botswana, the Lackeys have operated with the simple desire to serve the people of central and Southern Africa. They aim to meet spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. Love Botswana commits to stand alongside those within the African infrastructure in assisting in the development of mutli-national African cooperative efforts.

Today

The Lackeys and the Love Botswana team currently operate an international elementary and secondary school, pastor a local church, and reach out to the community of Maun through HIV/AIDS prevention and care as well as social aid and advocacy. The mission also hosts many outreach teams, serving as a platform for ministry and connecting expatriates to people in need.
